Project
Across the Ocean
Across the Ocean is a short film drama/ psychological thriller that tackles the subject of grief and mental health.
Studies show that the more social support people in the grieving stages receive the better the chances of their recovery are. Therefore it is only natural that the best support during grief is creating genuine connections and sharing our stories.
We’re inviting you to help us share ours.
We’re raising £ 25,000 to shoot and complete the film.
We would love for you to become part of our journey and thank each and every one of you for your time and effort.

THE STORY:
Across the Ocean centres around a young mother, Alicia, who due to the impact of her tragic loss suffers from a grief-induced break from reality during which she denies the death of her young son Oscar.
BACKGROUND:
The story of Across the Ocean was informed by real-life events. As we dove deeper into exploring the stigma around loss, we realised that a general lack of awareness and ingrained societal norms create even more isolation for people in grief, often leading to further mental health problems. The emotions around loss are difficult to share but ultimately they need to be shared in order to be healed. After all, loss is a universal human experience and within it lies an opportunity to create more compassion and kindness in the world; To stand shoulder by shoulder with those who have experienced life’s most tragic events and let their truths be seen.
That is what inspired us to make this film.
