Slick Films, who won an Oscar back in 2018, have joined forces with a very talented director, Daniel Deville, to make a new short film.. '
'A tale of two sisters; a vulnerable young girl, trapped in the dark world of sex-trafficking. The other; a working class Northern Mother, fighting against all odds to bring her sister home.'

We've attached some amazing talent including Jade Anouka ('His Dark Materials', 'Cleaning Up' and HBO's 'Dune: The Sisterhood'), Duncan Pow ('Star Wars: Andor', 'Star Wars: Rogue One', 'The Salisbury Poisonings' and 'Halo'), Avita Jay ('Silent Witness' and 'The Rezort').
The film is a powerful, cinematic film that has an important two-fold message- to raise awareness of sex trafficking but also to raise awareness for the deaf community- which feels very timely now, given the success of Troy Kotsur's Oscar win for 'CODA', Rose Ayling-Ellis winning 'Strictly Come Dancing' and the passing of the British Sign Language Act in parliament.
This project is very unique as we viewed this project as a social enterprise as we successfully recruited deaf professionals to work alongside hearing professionals (the ratio was 50:50 and it was a fantastic partnership to witness). Many of the hearing crew have vowed to learn a bit of sign language as they were so inspired. Some have even gone on to say that they'll recommend the deaf crew for future work, which is a success in itself!
We are looking to raise another £14K to fund the post production stages and we would love your help as we believe that the film will go on to do very well at festivals- we have our sights on an Oscar.
