BIG BOY

Jude, a cocky OnlyFans creator who treats consequences like rumors, arrives at his girlfriend Clara’s family dinner carrying chlamydia—and a mountain of secrets. When the guest list includes her plumber (his hookup) and her father, the doctor who diagnosed him, the night spirals into a filthy farce about ego, desire, and the chaos of a double life finally colliding.

This script is a bold and irreverent exploration of modern sexuality, desire, and the messy entanglements of human relationships. Set primarily in a sex clinic and domestic spaces, it follows Jude, a self-absorbed and sexually adventurous young man, as he navigates encounters with lovers, partners, and authority figures, including Dr. Clapton, a charming yet morally ambiguous physician. The story is driven by farcical misunderstandings, sexual tension, and outrageous humour, highlighting themes of secrecy, sexual honesty, the complications of casual relationships, and the collision between desire and morality. At its core, the script examines emotional vulnerability through characters like Jasper, who, in contrast to Jude’s selfishness, represents genuine affection, patience, and the human cost of loving someone who refuses to be fully accountable.

As our university’s first-ever comedy graduate film, this piece blends sex comedy, farce, and social satire, targeting mature audiences who appreciate provocative humour, sexual candor, and character-driven chaos. The narrative strikes a balance between absurdity and emotional resonance, offering both laugh-out-loud moments and poignant reflections on intimacy, trust, and the consequences of our actions. By satirizing contemporary sexual culture ranging from casual hookups to OnlyFans fame and placing it alongside traditional structures like family, religion, and authority, the film underscores the tension between private desires and public appearances, ultimately inviting the audience to confront the humour and heartbreak in modern love.

    MEET THE CREW!

    Characters

    • Jude craves validation through sex, believing he can enjoy desire without responsibility by keeping people emotionally compartmentalised. His illusion of control collapses when STIs, lies, and overlapping relationships force everything into the open. Not a villain but a product of modern sexual culture, Jude’s greatest obstacle is himself, his refusal to be honest or emotionally present and his unraveling is painfully human.

    • Dr. Clapton is a moral and structural antagonist who holds power because he holds the truth of Jude’s STI diagnosis. He craves control and moral authority, presenting himself as a respectable doctor, father, and religious man while privately indulging in desire and judgement-free power. He weaponises confidentiality until exposure serves him better, revealing Jude’s secret at the worst moment to reclaim control. Dr. Clapton embodies institutional hypocrisy systems that protect morality while enabling harm and is not better than Jude, only older, better dressed, and more socially protected.

    • Clara wants certainty and safety in love, believing in a future built on commitment and emotional openness. Her hope and her habit of trusting appearances, leaves her vulnerable to Jude’s dishonesty. The emotional heart of the film, Clara is not foolish but hopeful, and her public humiliation transforms the story from farce into something painfully human. She pays the highest emotional price, making the cost of deception unmistakable.

    • Sarah wants to feel desirable and admired, clinging to youth, centrality, and control within her household. Her warmth and generosity mask a deep fear of becoming invisible in a culture that prizes youth and sexual relevance, especially within a marriage built on performance rather than intimacy. Alcohol lowers her defences, and her flirtation becomes an attempt to reclaim power. Sarah represents a quieter tragedy: her complicity in the chaos is not malicious but desperate, and watching her denial collapse is uncomfortable yet deeply empathetic.

    • Jasper craves recognition and emotional honesty; he doesn’t seek status like Jude, but longs to be chosen, acknowledged, and treated as more than a secret or convenience. Caught in a web of secrecy, power imbalances, and class, he often stays silent longer than he should, held back by his fear of confrontation and abandonment. Quietly exposed, his heartbreak is contained yet deeply relatable, embodying the cost of casual cruelty and the pain of loving someone who refuses to claim you.
