THE WHAT:
Hello! My name is Judi Amato and I am a playwright and theatremaker based in the North East of England. Together with an amazing director, Lisa Millar, we will be bringing my play, "For a Brief Moment and Never Again Since" to the VAULT Festival, season 2023. This is such an exciting opportunity for us, and a brand new experience for me as this will be my first-ever festival.
However, we recently received the news that our project will not be supported by ACE on this occasion. To say this was heartbreaking is an understatement - we had hoped to use this play to increase access to the performing arts to the communities represented in the script, we had hoped to have an intimacy coordinator and a drama therapist, and most of all we had hoped everyone could be paid what they are worth. But we are not giving up just yet! Even though this project is now profit-share, we still want to give it (and each other) our very best.
So here we are, fundraising to finance “For a Brief Moment and Never Again Since” at VAULT Festival 2023. Any money raised will cover expenses and go towards the creatives beginning with the actors. We will have a 100% open book policy meaning creatives involved and financial supporters will see where every last £ goes!

Moving across multiple timelines to showcase the best and worst times in a couple’s life, "For a Brief Moment and Never Again Since" explores the consequences of crime and incarceration on both offenders and their loved ones.
