The project is the continued chapter in the Couples Retreat story, the first film was filmed last year in the midst of the Covid Lockdown. We have carried out all of our auditions via Zoom and managed to acquire a number of wonderful filming locations – Brighton, Crowborough and Highgate London.

Directors Statement Inspired by a love for the horror and the thriller genre, Couples Retreat is a mix between American Psycho, Psycho and Kill your friends. Fun, quirky and packs a punch! Michael Hippolyte is upcoming filmmaker focussed on bringing his film ideas to life. We are very new team, in the quest gain experience and bring this project to life.

    We need your help!

Short films allow filmmakers the freedom to take creative risks - enabling us to find the stories we want to tell and a voice in which to tell them.

They are considered rights of passage in the industry and yet, they are notoriously difficult to fund.

This leaves many early filmmakers in a bind; unable to get projects financed without existing work but unable to develop as artists without the resources to make that work in the first place.

If you’re inclined to support artistic endeavour, storytelling, filmmaking or just an old pal, relative, friend or colleague with what they're trying to make happen - you could look generously on this project by contributing.

    Couples Retreat - The Crew

    Where do your contributions go?

The simple answer is everywhere. When making a film, there's no shortage of places to use funds, and the truth is – in line with the five completed episodes – what we're requesting will ultimately make for a modest production. Experience is pivotal, and has taught us to be economical whilst still getting the most bang for our buck! The main sources of expenditure will go towards renting equipment and locations, paying for talent in front and behind camera, and catering.

Here is a breakdown of how the budget will be allocated:
