A music video for the first movement of a modern classical piece composed by Dani Howard titled "Dancing Shadows" and directed by Joaquín Huezo.

What Motivates Us?

Dancing Shadows is driven by a genuine desire to reimagine how classical music is presented to contemporary audiences. While there is a vibrant and growing community of young artists and listeners within the classical world, we believe the visual language surrounding the genre has not always evolved at the same pace.

This project is our attempt to bridge that gap – by bringing together music, dance and cinematic storytelling to create a piece that feels modern, emotionally resonant, and visually ambitious.

Our Intention...

It is not only to create a music video, but to explore what a classical music video can be today: one that speaks to all audiences but specially, young ones who love classical music but also crave innovation, movement, and a bold visual expression.

Through Dancing Shadows, we aim to offer a fresh entry point into the genre – celebrating its beauty while presenting it through a contemporary lens that reflects how younger audiences engage with culture online.

Director's Creative Statement

“No minute gone comes ever back again, take heed
and see ye nothing do in vain”

Mostly shot in B&W the underlying concept of
the music video draws inspiration form the quote above. Meaning,
a sense of purpose, dedication and passion is
transmitted trough movement, haste and performance.

The film will follow the choreography of a dancer,
the performance of the saxophonist, and glimpses
of a narrative with a surrealist aesthetic.

A narrative which conveys a journey,
growth (metamorphosis), and memories as a
source of inspiration — shadows in the present.

Important Information

The first day of filming for Dancing Shadows took place in early 2026 at the MetalWorks Studio in Seven Sisters, London. The music video is now in the second half of production and starting its post production of which you can see on our littler teaser above.

We have self-funded over 50% of the budget and we are aiming for this crowdfunding cover the final productions costs, post-production costs and promotion.

Talent & Crew

Elisabeth Mulenga

Is a choreographer and performer creating unflinching autobiographical work that examines themes around obsession, intimacy, and the sense of being haunted by lost individual and collective futures. Her work is rooted in a continuous awareness of the interplay between physical sensation and emotional reaction.

In 2023, Elisabeth and Joaquín collaborated with Household Pictures, Mycoworks, and Yume Yume as a movement director and performer for the Descent Into Fungal exhibition at Buro Stedelijk in Amsterdam in 2023.

Jonathan Radford

Winner of the Royal Overseas League Gold Medal and recognised for his “virtuosity and engaging musicianship” (Gramophone Magazine), Jonathan Radford is regarded as one of the leading classical saxophonists of his generation. Passionate about showcasing the saxophone’s versatility across the classical and contemporary repertoire, Jonathan delights his audiences with characteristically energetic and expressive performances.

Dani Howard is a British composer and orchestrator who is quickly gaining international recognition with regular performances across Europe, the US and Asia. Described as having a “luminous and effervescent sound world” (Gramophone), Howard’s work has been commissioned and performed by orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, and Kuopio Symphony. Conductors have included Vasily Petrenko, Dalia Stasevska, Kazuki Yamada, Martyn Brabbins, Elim Chan, and Chloé Van Soeterstède.

In 2022, she won a Royal Philharmonic Society Award for her Trombone Concerto which was dubbed “an instant classic" (The Times). The piece was further nominated for a 2022 South Bank Sky Arts Awards.
 

Joaquín Huezo is a London-based Salvadoran-Spanish producer-director and the founder of Paranoid Media, a production company dedicated to supporting bold, creative voices and telling contemporary, subversive stories.

In the broader industry, Joaquín has gained extensive experience working as a runner, production assistant, and currently as a production secretary across scripted and unscripted productions, from feature films to reality shows, factual entertainment, and high-end TV (HETV) projects. He has worked on productions for major companies and organisations such as Disney+, Universal, Amazon Studios, Netflix, BBC, BFI, Sky, Channel 4, HBO, and ITV, amongst others.

Now stepping into directing, he is actively shifting toward a more creatively led practice, using this music video as a pivotal debut project to establish his voice and visual language as a filmmaker.
