Dead Town
Four Women, one unconscious criminal - in a Basingstoke apartment.
Project
Dead Town
Four women and an unwanted guest, in a Basingstoke apartment.
Brand new, relevant, raw and fast paced web series that reflects on the funny side of life, no matter how bad it gets.
We are raising £5,000 for the production, completion, distribution and raising awareness for Refuge Charity. Please help us reach our goal, to begin filming in May 2021.

Recently single Rachel, moves to Basingstoke to spend time with her unconventional cousin Megan, and two flatmates, Max and Nicole. Basingstoke seems dead since the lockdown eased, and the flatmates are shocked at their neighbours for throwing a huge party just outside their front door.
Rachel invites local criminal, Greg, into the flat after accidentally knocking him down a flight of stairs. Unfortunately for her, he is found unresponsive the following morning.
The flatmates frantically spend 24 hours uncovering various criminal evidence before their landlady knocks with some unfortunate news. Without hesitation, the girls know it is time to call the police, until Rachel discovers Greg's unconsciousness may be due to something he drank, putting her and the other flatmates to blame.

Ben Simpson - Director of Photography
We are super excited to have Ben on board. Chloe was cast in his project at Bournemouth University, leading onto his first feature film, which he co directed with David Campion. Ben has now been in the industry for over 10 years, shooting various projects, and spending some time in the travel industry, filming, editing, directing and selling travel documentaries. He is currently filming sport events, and looking forward to delving into comedy-drama again.

We can't think of a better bunch of people to bring this story to life!
We (Chloe, Nadine, Jodi and Lisa) met on the set of Guy Ritchie's new film, 'Wrath of Man' (formerly known as Cash Truck). We hit it off straight away, and made quite an impression on set, bouncing ideas and jokes off each other, forming our bond and production company, 'Cashettes'
Film and television shows that make a real difference inspire us. Chewing Gum, Afterlife and Fleabag really capture humour whilst facing uncomfortable issues. And sitcoms like Derry Girls, The Inbetweeners and even going back to Fawlty Towers work so well for their uncommon characters and situations.
We want to combine these themes together, creating something excitingly raw, frantic and of course hilarious!

After 14 Months of story development, Dead Town is finally ready to be heard, as we relate to everyone who had to stay inside for most of 2020.
Another reason for creating this now, is to support our chosen charity, Refuge. Domestic abuse has risen over the past year, and bringing this subject to light through drama is important to us. Refuge and Women's Aid offer services which save lives. We are thrilled to be supporting the cause.

CREW - Most of our budget will go into hiring the best people for the job, including equipment and insurance.
FOOD/TRAVEL - Everyone on set will be fed. We will be working across Basingstoke and London and will be covering the travel to and from these locations.
POST PRODUCTION - As Chloe has some editing experience, we are able to cut costs here. Although colour grading and finalising the sound takes an experienced editor, which is where this money will go.
REFUGE CHARITY - 10% to this charity, helping Women and Children against Domestic Violence.
OTHER - We will be keeping the set Covid secure by distancing, masks and tests prior and during the shoot. Some of this budget will also go towards getting our series to festivals, where we can hopefully gain recognition as a company. With your support we have the ability to make more relatable content and projects, and perhaps even Dead Town 2!

We want to get our series online and seen as soon as possible. You can get regular updates by following our Twitter page - www.twitter.com/Deadtown1 - or selecting VIP SOCIALITE in the Rewards section.
