    OUR STORY

Each a Fire revolves around the relationship between a young woman and her ailing mother, a stranger’s faith in her god, and the mother’s connection to the unknown. This is a story about three women who put their faith in different places and - ultimately - choose their people over everything else.

“The script was initially an excavation of my own experiences of grief, but evolved to be an exploration of the dark side of that faith/love thematic. This film is intrinsically intertwined with my own feelings and sensibilities, and though the approach may be challenging, it fundamentally remains a universally human story.”

Each a Fire is about the unseen threads that bind these character’s fates together. It mirrors Daughter’s grief and loneliness with an undercurrent of horror. It’s a story that, although remaining earnest and heartfelt, dances with its counterpoints…

    Loyalty and resentment.

    Companionship and loneliness.

    Tenderness and violence.

    OUR CAST

    OUR CREW

    OUR PLAN

We’re aiming at a mid-January shoot in and around the stunning landscapes of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. We are them aiming toward a fourth shoot day at CUBE STUDIO - to shoot our challenging final sequence - in which our main character encounters an otherworldly presence.

The weather will be wild and woolly and we’re planning for that in order to best protect our cast and crew with locations that will still be accessible in event of flooding or snow. As well as plenty of hot meals and hot drinks to see us through!

After shooting the film will head into post-production with our incredible editor, alongside DISAUTHORITY - talks about VFX have already begun - and we’ve put together a distribution plan targeting UK BAFTA and BIFA qualifying festivals as well as international festivals aimed at genre fans.

    YOUR SUPPORT

We understand that, especially right now, donating to a project like this may be a big ask. It was really important to us to do everything we could first to raise our funding without a crowdfunding campaign being a necessity. So, throughout 2024, we took on additional freelance work, in order to partially self-fund Each a Fire.

We've managed to save and invest £8,000 of our earnings into this project. Our script has been longlisted for multiple funding opportunities, and we have been offered in-kind support and discounts by some incredibly generous teams/companies.

We are now looking to raise an additional £8,000 to ensure the cast & crew are paid for their time, to pay for accommodation, transport & logistics and to cover post-production and the film’s festival life. As above, we’re using a fair parity pay system across all departments to ensure we cover our talented cast/crew's time, but also do it within the restraints of a small budget.

Any support you can give to help us reach our target would be incredibly appreciated. If you're unable to donate to the campaign yourself, even just sharing this page would be extremely helpful and could help us reach our goal.
