    director's statement

In this short film, I intend to unravel the forced transformation of a young girl into a 'woman' due to child marriage. I want to honour the unfulfilled womanhood of my grandmother and mother with this film, breaking the unspoken generational trauma from the women in our family. Through the journey of Suna, I hope to evoke a sense of empathy and commemorate the reality that 40,000 children and young women under 18 are married every day around the world.
