    LOGLING:

A petrol station is targeted by a robber, and the till assistant’s only saviour is Milli, his deaf customer.

    SYNOPSIS:

Heads Down, Hands Up is a quirky, fast-paced comedy that follows an unlikely duo who must outwit a bumbling robber during a late-night petrol station holdup. Peter, a jittery shop clerk with a flair for awkwardness, and Milli, a cool, deaf customer, are thrown together when an armed robber bursts into the store. While Peter panics and scrambles to hide, Milli remains calm, forcing the two to team up in a series of hilarious miscommunications, silent strategies, and clumsy heroics.

With Peter attempting to mime the situation to Milli (and failing miserably), and Milli taking matters into her own hands, they navigate the aisles like a slapstick duo from an action-comedy gone wrong. As the robber gets closer, Peter's blunders put him directly in harm’s way, but it’s Milli’s quick thinking (and a bottle of wine) that ultimately saves the day-and Peter’s life.

In the end, amidst the flashing lights of police cars and ambulances, an unexpected bond forms between the two. Milli might not stick around for romance, but Peter’s hoping for at least a second chance at heroics-or, at the very least, a ride home.

Get Involved: Help Us Make Heads Down Hands Up

Heads Down Hands Up is a bold new short film bursting with energy, humour, and heart, an action-comedy with a difference. At its core? A female-led, inclusive team bringing to life a story packed with chaos, courage, and characters you won’t forget.

But here’s the truth: short films like ours don’t make themselves. Funding opportunities are rare, especially for indie projects championing underrepresented voices. That’s where you come in.

We've built a team that reflects the world we want to see on screen, inclusive, diverse, and full of talent that doesn't always get a shot in mainstream spaces. Your donation directly supports fair pay for our cast and crew, equipment hire, locations, and post-production... Everything we need to bring Heads Down Hands Up to life.

If you believe in fresh stories, real representation, and shaking things up in film, then this is your chance to be part of something that truly matters.

Whether you just discovered us or you’ve been cheering us on since day one: thank you. Your support means the world.
