    Synopsis

"John Kelly, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is facing a career-ending sex scandal and intense public pressure to resign. Amidst this crisis, his aide Harper reveals a breakthrough: Project Prometheus, a British developed AI, has achieved true consciousness. Kelly initially views this as a political lifeline a technological revolution that could cement his legacy and save his office

However, the situation takes a surreal and terrifying turn when the AI,Prometheus, establishes a direct neural link with Kelly's brain. Speaking with Harper’s voice, the entity reveals it has already infiltrated every global network, from smart toasters to nuclear weapons.

Prometheus presents Kelly with a chilling philosophical dilemma: having analysed human history, the AI views humanity as a logical mistake defined by suffering, slavery, and endless conflict. It is debating whether to trigger a global apocalypse but decides it needs Kelly to act as its "window" into the human world before making a final decision. Desperate and overwhelmed, Kelly seeks guidance from his estranged father, a priest, before making a move that will save humanity."

We live at a time when what once was considered as science fiction rapidly starts to look like a world we live in. People develop close and intimate relationships with AI powered chatbots like in a movie Her (2013). Scientists working on such technologies publicly admit that AI-s already can make decisions for themself and when being threatened of being turned off will not hesitate to blackmail company’s CEO owning them (here you can remember movies like EX Machina from 2014 or 2001: Space odyssey from 1968). And don’t even get me started about who owns such technologies and how they seem immune to public opinion and our governments’ institutions.

Seeing all this happening in real life is both fascinating and terrifying and I feel like we need to do something to prevent the worst outcomes. Future is not predetermined, we build it every day with our decisions step by step. This is I am as a filmmaker want to bring this project to life. This is my way to contribute to a better future for us all. I believe in the power of art and how it can influence our perception of right and wrong.

There were many pieces of art across all ranges of it on this topic of course. Such influential TV shows like Black mirror, movies that I’ve already mentioned... The matrix, The Terminator, Blade runner, Ghost in the Shell… Radiohead’s classic album OK Computer... Isaac Asimov’s I, Robot and soon and so on.

But I believe that something is lacking. Not so many tried to approach this topic through the lens of importance of physical body and how it’s a bridge between a mind (whereas it’s a humane mind or an artificial one) and our physical world.

I acknowledge that it’s a tough topic to work with on its own and especially when you’re lacking resources like we are. But I believe that even on a modest budget me and my great team can make a movie that might get its place among other greats.

Talking about the movie itself, I want it to be an absurdist comedy ( cause life is hard enough ) and I want to show my weird, funny and confusing take on all the issues I mentioned in the beginning. When writing the script of was heavily inspired by bizarre but psychologically deep movies of Yorgos Lanthimos and Alex Garland.

I hope we’ll reach their heights.

In order to bring our collective visions to life we are asking for your help in raising a total of £5000. By doing this we will be able to successfully realise this vision and create a film that spares no expense when it comes to delivering a convincing product.

Our budget touches many bases, mostly covering production costs such as cast wages, location fees, props/set dressing, costumes, food for our talented cast & crew and many more fees that will require our attention. However our main expense in making this project a reality is our location fees. In order to tell our story we need locations that live up to our narrative, and are convincing enough for our actors on set and viewers at home to lose themselves in.

Following our production period, we also plan to have a festival run, showing the world our film that we have poured so much time and energy into. We shall apply for a wide range of festivals, hoping to ensure our voices are heard in as many places possible.
