La Grossesse
A self-destructive motorcycle driver deliberately crashes his bike, sparking a journey that will irrevocably alter his life. This single act sets him on a path of profound transformation, a descent that gradually erodes his identity and humanity. Piece by piece, he is stripped of everything he once was, finally emerging as something utterly inhuman.

La Grossesse
Logline:
A daring motorcycle driver initiates a life changing experience by deliberately crashing his bike. This life-altering incident takes everything the driver has ever known, stripping him of all that he was, transforming him into something inhuman.

Director's Statement:
I wrote this film because I want to follow my passion for bold, explorative, and environmentally conscious cinema.
I strongly believe that film is at its best when it is transgressive and bleak.
My focus is on creating a bold narrative that explores the act of transgressing one's limits and highlights the beauty and delicate natural environment surrounding it and the consequences of being separated from it.
The weight that comes from the sense of alienation from the world is one that has visited me a long time ago and continues to make its presence felt throughout my life, and as such, it is one that I need to express.
I have learned that consequence is a formidable teacher, and it is one that the protagonist will come to know by the end of the film.
As such, this film serves as both a cautionary tale and an experiment, one that fully crescendos at its climax. Through the film, I also get to engage with my familial heritage, specifically that of my late grandfather, who lived for the thrill of off-road racing and the rush of pushing himself and his vehicle to the absolute limits.
This short will be the result of funnelling my experience with alienation and self-destruction.
It is me and my way of expressing my engagement in the driver's mode of living, one of violence, transgression, and passion.
The Driver:

Our protagonist is an unnamed man of action, capable of seeing things through to the end. However his physical ability and courage are subjugated by his passions.
This is not the first time that he has gone through fire to fuel the rush brought on by his actions but it is certainly the last, he does not walk away from this experience.
The driver is thus a man who rather than walking, runs towards his oblivion, too enthralled in the ecstasy of his actions to slow down or change course.
Much like the characters in Clive Barker's "Hellraiser," he is an explorer of the outer reaches of sensation.

Our Plan:
With funding secured, we plan to begin on-location filming in various parts of Scotland, primarily around Glasgow, ideally between late spring and summer of 2025.
Most of our crew has already been onboarded, and after discussions with our creative leads, we’ve finalized production costs and are confident in staying on budget.
Once production wraps, we have allocated a month for post-production. Our main post-production team is already in place, and we’ve budgeted this phase to align with our target timeline, finishing in time for festival submissions in Q4 of 2025.
We are currently exploring casting options for the lead role.
Funding allocation and contingency costs have been carefully planned to cover potential challenges.
