Love Without Walls
China in a box is the music video teaser to the Feature Film, Love Without Walls and the official music video that accompanies the single:
Love Without Walls is an uplifting story about a Paul a young musician and his wife Sophie, a photographer who rely on their loving relationship for vitality when faced with extreme financial hardships. It is a character-driven musical drama, featuring a backdrop of blistering, original music mostly written and performed by singer/songwriter and lead actor Niall McNamee.
At the time of writing this, more than 70,000 households have been made homeless since the start of the pandemic, with numbers continuing to rise at an alarming rate. Whilst this is not a film about Covid-19, it is a film relevant to what we are going through as a society in the aftermath of the pandemic. It is a story of love, hope and survival in the darkest of times. It is a film that needs to be made now ... when we all need a happy ending and some light at the end of that proverbial tunnel!
We have partnered with the incredible Macari Foundation. Founded by footballing legend Lou Macari, to help make a difference to anyone who is made homeless and has nowhere to turn.
Niall McNamee is an Irish Actor and Singer-Songwriter born in Leicester.
Self-taught in piano and guitar he moved to London in 2012 to join a three year BA course at Arts Ed. After only a few months he decided to leave before joining the NYT REP company performing 3 leading roles in plays at The Ambassadors Theatre on the West End (most notably playing former Prime minister Edward Heath in ‘Tory Boyz’)
He then went on to play various Roles in TV, Theatre and Film including starring along side Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan in ‘The Foreigner’ in which he had the challenge of a major fight scene with Jackie himself.
Throughout this time Niall was gathering up songs as he wrote them and would regularly gig building up a fine fan base. He’d busk anywhere between Camden to Kingston and he sold out various venues including The Dublin Castle, The Bedford and The Antelope.
After playing the part of Neil McCormick in his bio ‘Chasing Bono’ at The Soho Theatre and Fran O’Toole in The Miami Showband tour around Ireland, Niall recorded his first ‘chunk’ of songs in Belfast. Around the same time, he met his partner Imelda May who he shares a duet with on her latest album, 11th Past The Hour:
Shana Swash is best known for playing Demi Miller in the long running TV show EastEnders.
She has since gone on to appear in numerous film, theatre and TV shows, including Top Boy, Doctors and My Feral Heart, which earned her a BIFA & National Film Awards nomination for best actress.
'Love Without Walls is a fictional musical love story, set between London and Southend-on-Sea.
I was inspired to write Love Without Walls by my own personal experience of losing our family home, working with people who’ve been affected by homelessness and being a member of a band for over fifteen years - even though I can’t sing!
Many people who become homeless do not show up in the official figures. This includes people who become homeless but find a temporary solution by staying with family members or friends otherwise known as ‘sofa surfing’.
My vision is to create a piece of cinema that puts faces to the statistics, seeks out the beauty in the ugliest of times and finds the light in the darkest moments. Love Without Walls is a good old-fashioned love story told with humour, an underlying theme of hope and some great tunes!
Sometimes home isn’t 4 walls. Sometimes it’s 2 eyes and a heartbeat.'
