Macbeth is a stunning adaptation of Shakespeare's tale of love, ambition and madness. Set within the modern equivalent of castles; feuding estates, magic meets realism. Brought to life by a young, diverse and award winning cast and crew, this is a social enterprise film with BBC Children in Need support featuring workshop schemes involving disadvantaged young people.

Set on a dystopian estate, under the rule of Duncan, Macbeth has lived through countless feuds, loyally defending the kingdom against increasing attacks. When a malevolent force offers Macbeth a future as king, encouraged by Lady Macbeth they seize their fate sooner than promised, with grave consequences.

With an edit in final tweaks, we are looking to raise funds to push the film through the last stages of post production. This includes finishing the incredible score by Rob Lewis https://roblewiscomposer.com, creating a unique and exciting sound landscape, doing justice to the amazing cinematography with a stellar grade, adding further magic with subtle visual effects and finally QC and delivery.
Screen Northants pitched an idea to BBC Children in Need; use the film making process to raise aspirations in young people, with a focus on the severely disadvantaged and/or underrepresented in our industry. Providing proof-of-concept funding, the results have been fantastic and BBC Children in Need have been blown away. Shot on what would be classed as no-budget, everyone dedicating their time and talent to a fulfilling method of not-for-profit production, making a high-end feature film that has relevance to education.
Keen to give everyone’s hard work the justice it deserves, festival and cinema screenings await, We are on a final push through the closing stages, which is where we hope you can join our journey.
PRODUCTION COMPANY: Screen Northants enables new film talent and disadvantaged young people access to the film industry. Becky’s work highlights include King Lear for the Royal Shakespeare Company in New York, Rise of the Foot Soldier for Carnaby Films, multi-award- winning short film The Boy With A Camera For A Face and OSCAR-shortlisted Hotel starring Art Malik. Paul started his career TV Dramas including “Foyles War” and Lynda La Plantes “The Commander” and has gone on to Produce 6 feature films, 4 TV dramas and a number of award winning shorts.t
CINEMATOGRAPHER: Emily Almond Barr. Honing her technical skills in camera departments on feature films and commercials, Emily was recently nominated for a BAFTA Cymru. She has a passion for narrative-driven composition and lighting.
WRITER/DIRECTOR: Daryl Chase. With a background in cinematography and pioneering moving image content for a variety of brands, Daryl has created numerous award-winning commercials and music videos, while his short films have won film festival acclaim.
MACBETH - Shaq B Grant. Known for productions including Lynn + Lucy, Gangs of London and Dead Pixels, this is Shaq's first venture into a film adaptation of Shakespeare.
LADY MACBETH - Aoife Smyth. Known for The End of the Line and Paintball Massacre, Lady Macbeth is Aoife's first on-screen Shakespeare role.
The cast of Macbeth is an eclectic mix of new talent and award winning, long standing professionals, including Joe Sims as Duncan.
By helping complete the film, you are helping to support all the people involved, from those who benefit from the ongoing workshops, to new talent pushing themselves within the industry.
