Introduction

The nachzehrer (German: [ˈnaːxˌt͡seːʁɐ]) is a type of wiedergänger (revenant) in German folklore believed capable of drawing the living into death.

Hi, I am Simon, the founder of Sierra Juliet Films.

I have been an actor since 2010 and during Covid (2020) I started to write with the intention of filmmaking. This campaign in 2026 is for my first feature called The Nachzehrer, and it is a horror/folklore film set in Northumberland, UK about three friends who are unknowingly drawn into a Germanic curse.

Influence & Tone

Evil Dead Rises, The Grudge, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Hush could all be credited for bursts of terror punctuating creepy, anguish inducing tension that The Nachzehrer intends to serve. There will be a natural feel to the landscape, but with creepy, gothic elements, and each set piece will be visceral and real.

The Trailer That Never Was.........

Initially The Nachzehrer was to be shot in Salzburg, Austria. Plans changed, and after a weekend of 'thinking', I decided to relocate the script to Northumberland. Below is the link to the now defunct Salzburg trailer, ungraded and unwanted for your viewing pleasure.

Crew

As with my first short film "Don't Worry About Me", the majority of the small crew will be from the north-east of England. The area is full of talented and hard-working grafters who don't necessarily get the opportunities they deserve because of their location, so it is a pleasure to be able to recruit a few of these fine men and women to make a feature proudly rooted in the north east. Scott Davis

SFX & Prosthetic MUA.

Scott is a north east based SFX/prosthetic makeup artist and aspiring designer with over 5 years experience in tv/film, theatre and medical simulation. He has a deep passion for horror and all things gore and is excited to be getting his first opportunity to design this film.

Budget

It is understood that any feature film made for £100,000 or less is considered 'low' or 'micro' budget. Therefore it is understandable that the budget of £12,800 that I am looking to achieve makes this film a 'no-budget' film, or even 'impossible', which is exciting.

Elle O'Hara

"LINDY"

Elle is a Glaswegian actor and voice over artist based in London. She graduated from East 15 Acting School in 2022 and has worked on various screen & stage productions. She has recently played Cathy in EMRJ Productions’ adaptation of Wuthering Heights, and is currently playing Emily Hargreaves in RO Pictures Audio Drama and FMV Video Game Tales From Davidstown. Other credits include River City (BBC), Cara (Black Octopus Productions), Run (Bocca Theatrics, Reading Rep).

Lynne Payne

"THE NACHZEHRER"

Lynne grew up in the UK, in the North West seaside town of Blackpool and studied Theatre at Lancaster University.

She began her career as a Professional Contemporary Dancer and Dance Artist and has worked in a range of jobs throughout the film and theatre industry. She has produced and performed in many film and stage productions, and her favourite projects are always those which require a high level of physicality, which has always been her main love.

She is represented by Northern Gold Personal Management.

Jacob Anderton

"Mart"

Jacob is and award winning actor and producer. He was selected as a featured actor in the 2018 'Talent Corner' at the prestigious Cannes film festival

His television work includes playing 'Isaac Hedley' in ITV's 'Dark Angel' alongside 'Golden Globe' winning actress Joanne Froggatt. He also had a spell in 'Coronation Street'. And he played the lead in RTS winning programme 'A Very Uncommon Christmas.' More recently appearing as ‘Ben Flint’ in ‘Emmerdale’.

In film Jacob starred in '13 Graves', available on sky and amazon prime. As well as appearing in 'I am Vengeance: Retaliation', that reached the top 10 on Netflix in 2020. More recently he could be seen in ‘Lore’ on Amazon prime and playing the romantic lead in ‘3 wishes for Christmas’ that aired on channel 5.

Emma Barbara

"Jo"

Emma Barbara is a Scottish actor originally from Glasgow, and currently based in Cardiff, South Wales.

She is represented by JK’s management and trains in film and television performance with Peter Wooldridge at The Workshop, and with The Actor’s Room in Cardiff.

Emma has experience in short film, commercial, and feature, and looks forward to joining the cast of The Nachzehrer as Jo.
