A Night in the Asylum
A NIGHT IN THE ASYLUM is a joyous return to the horror movies of the 80s, a rollercoaster that will leave you laughing and screaming in equal measure. A strained group of friends are invited to an abandoned asylum, where a mysterious cult is the least of their problems... If Sam Raimi and John Carpenter had a baby, it just might have been a Blu-Ray of... A NIGHT IN THE ASYLUM!

We are Lyndon and Dave, formerly Guksack (what do you mean, "who?"). It's always been our dream to make a real movie, and after years of writing, directing, "acting", and special effecting, it's time to nut up or shut up.
And we're all out of shut up.
We love horror, but we're tired of the clichés and stale characters. Wouldn't it be great to get back to basics, with a cast of memorable characters, gross-out fun, quality scares, and buckets of blood?
That was rhetorical, please don't answer.
A Night In The Asylum will deliver the atmosphere of John Carpenter, the horror cartoon violence of Sam Raimi, and the comedic stylings of Edgar Wright.
We've got some great updates, casting news, and surprises in store, so stay tuned!

Ben is your average late-20s guy, lacking purpose and confidence. His motivated young girlfriend, Stacy, is leaving him behind. His best friend, Pete, is MIA at college. And Stacy’s best friend, Moon the accomplished artist, doesn’t know he exists.
But when they’re invited to an abandoned asylum to indulge in Ben’s hobby of urban exploration by the hapless shut-in Richard, what should have been a jolly jaunt snapping pictures of dusty old rooms becomes a twisted race for survival against a depraved cult… and worse.
Can Ben save his relationship with Stacy, patch things up with Pete, find his purpose and not die horribly while covered in blood and piss and bits of sick?

Lyndon and Dave have been working together since they were 19 and at university *looks at calendar and turns to dust*
They are completely in sync when it comes to loving and making movies. In fact, some have said they could be brothers, although these same people also say that Lyndon probably has better taste. Lyndon's favourite movies are Ghostbusters, Big Trouble in Little China, and Evil Dead 2. Dave's are Independence Day and Jurassic Park.
Lyndon has been working on his screenwriting as of late and has placed in numerous prestigious screenwriting competitions. That includes the script for A Night In The Asylum, which has garnered great feedback from genuine movie producers.
Dave shoots, edits, and does SFX work for TV shows, movies, and... less savoury things. He knows how to make stuff look good, and he can't wait to sink his teeth into this project.
We also have practical FX talent from Marvel movies, Hollywood producers advising on the project, and even have a sales agent attached.
We've spent months doing the legwork and have assembled a huge network of great people to help us out, and we'll share more details in the coming weeks!

Did you know we made James Buckley's (The Inbetweeners) favourite YouTube video?
No, we're not lying (rude...). Feast your eyeballs on this!

We're really excited to have Jenna Fournier from one of our favourite bands, Niights, scoring the film. She's worked on shorts and was a featured vocalist for the new CareBears show. We're excited to see what original sounds she'll bring to the horror genre.
Speaking of, one of Niights' songs will be featured at the end of the movie! Have a listen, and why not buy the album now?

Tell me about your budget
Our base budget is £40,000. For that, we can deliver a fun movie with fantastic production values.
In an ideal world, we'd have more money (duh!), and will be looking at stretch goals or co-production to boost the budget to our dream of £100,000 (turns out, it's easier to get money when you have money!).
Updates

What's an asylum without a few crazed patients?
BETTY is the strongest there is. She announces her arrival by smashing through walls and tearing off heads.
She's also got baby fever.
How can our hapless heroes possibly defeat HER!?

The amazing Jenna Fournier from Niights is working on an awesome cover of The Damned's Shadow of Love! It'll be on the soundtrack, but for now, here's a sneak... listen.

Looks like good movies are back on the menu, boys!
Thank you everyone who's donated so far! Now we're official, it's time to take things to take the next level. Which is asking for more money.

We're sick of them! We promise no horror cliches! Only good scares.
Don't accept nonsense scares.
Welcome to the asylum.

Thank you to our first patients for getting us to this important milestone.
Some would say you are the most important for starting us off on such a strong footing, and you always will be. Unless someone drops huge cash on the top tiers and then they will quite rightly take your place.

Amazing actress and overall asskicker Autumn Ivy has joined the cast!
She'll be breaking faces and chopping limbs, and we're super excited to have her onboard!
