One Knight Stand
A medieval lesbian rom-com about a knight forced to collaborate with her one (k)night stand to collect a bounty.
Project
One Knight Stand
Sir Cal has fought tooth and nail to attain her status as a knight, but when an opportunity arises to further prove her worth, she finds herself in a reluctant partnership with her one (k)night stand, the ever-unserious Sir Maud. Together, they set off on a quest for a sacred gem, from romantically-charged campfires to fighting a bandit off with ye olde Glock, and eventually discovering that this treasure is not what it seems…
Meet Your Knights
Sir Cal
Cal first became a knight in order to help people and make a name for herself. But as noble-hearted and adaptable as she may be, she takes her job very seriously. Perhaps a little too seriously. Nothing matters more to her than getting a job done, which proves difficult when the only person who can help her on this particular quest can’t go two seconds without a jest.
Sir Maud
If tomfoolery was a person, it would be Maud. Life wouldn’t need to give them lemons because they already brought their own. They became a knight because… well, they just thought it would be cool. But after crossing paths (and spending a brief night) with Cal, they realise knighthood is so much bigger than just them.
Meet Your Director
EL GOH is an award-winning Singaporean writer and director who loves dabbling in Asian mythology, character-driven stories, and tropes such as found family.
Their works include ‘The Seven Seas of Sage’ (2024), a queer mockumentary, and ‘Penny for Your Soul’, an upcoming original animated series. Since then, El has adventured far to the west, pursuing a degree in Creative Writing and English Literature at the University of East Anglia.
When they’re not writing, El can be found bothering their cat Mika, or crying over their favourite TV shows and fictional characters.
Meet Your Producer
MEGAN TEO is a Singaporean producer based in London. A graduate of UAL, they are passionate about championing underrepresented voices and boundary-pushing storytelling.
Their experience includes working with award-winning writer and filmmakers, including a two-time-Venice-winner director. Megan’s work spans a range of genres, from the sci-fi audio drama ‘Seeking Sal’ (2019) to the queer dramedy ‘Loved Girls Wear Short Shorts’ (2023) — both recognised across multiple film festivals worldwide.
When they’re not producing, Megan can be found taking care of their spider Glenda, or reading contemporary lit.
Why Us?
When have we needed a 'One Knight Stand' more than now?
Armed with endearing (but stupid) characters, Gen Z humour and a good silly period romance, 'One Knight Stand' is Shrek (2002) meets Bottoms (2024).
With El's writing experience and Meg's production experience, we're aiming to get this £25k film made in just £17k!
If you would like to support this film in-kind (i.e: catering, equipment, etc.), feel free to reach out to our Producer directly!
