Paved with Gold and Ashes: Edinburgh Fringe
We are a team of six, heading to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer with a play called 'Paved with Gold and Ashes' and we need help to raise funds to cover our travel and a fee for everyone involved.

Paved with Gold and Ashes: Edinburgh Fringe
About the project:
Paved with Gold and Ashes is a 50-minute, five-handed all-female play, based on a true event, featuring a cappella music throughout. The play follows five young immigrant women in 1911 New York City, who explore their reasons for moving to the new world and the dreams they’re chasing, all while working long hours at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory to make ends meet. As they battle poverty and unfair working conditions, they are forced to face the deadliest American workplace disaster of the 20th century, when a fire befalls the factory one workday afternoon.
We are so thrilled to be able to bring our play to Edinburgh this summer, especially since we were unable to in 2020, due to the cancellation of the festival in the midst of the Covid pandemic. We will be performing at Greenside Infirmary Street from 14th-26th August at 6:40pm.
Our cast consists of five American women: Everleigh Brenner, Olivia Gaidry, Serena Lehman, Caroline Letelier, and Julia Thurston; as well as our producer and technical operator Stephen Smith.
How you can help:
Taking this play to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is something we have been hoping to do for years and are so excited it’s finally happening. As passionate and excited as our whole team are about this project, we still need to make sure everyone is able to get to Edinburgh (and can afford to eat once we’re there).
We want to do everything we can to make sure that our cast aren’t expected to pay their way out of their own pockets, so this is where you come in.
With our goal of raising £3,000, we can assure our team of six actors and creatives that their travel to Edinburgh and back home will be covered, and that we will be able to give them some compensation for their time and work.
Your generous donations will ensure that everyone is able to travel to and from Edinburgh, as well as make sure their dedication and hard work are compensated.
Thank you!
