Introduction
Hi! I'm the director Cole Oakley, and I'm very excited to tell you about our new music video project- which I am writing and directing. Five long months into this project and we are nearing the end of pre-production, while we wish we could fund this completely out of pocket it is evident that we need your help to make it possible! While our talented and experienced crew are working for free, we just need a little boost with covering some of the production costs to ensure the high quality we have the ability to achive.
Your money will go towards travel costs for our wonderful cast/crew, renting out generators to power our industry standard film equipment, as well as paying for the necessary hair & make-up supplies, art department's props and set decorating materials, as well as the fabric needed for making our period inspired costumes. Not only would any donation mean the world to us, it would also mean you are supporting a group of eager, creative, and ambitious young people making their way into the industry. We are all very passionate and can't wait to get started filming, we hope you will consider donating.
About Our Project
At the end of 2025, Faerieday Head (Costume Designer) & I pitched our music video idea to the Bristol based Alternative Rock band "Drenched" after listening to their "Bloom demos" on YouTube. We were immediately drawn to the song "Pink Leather", which is about symbolocally burning the memories of a past lover. We are both massive fans of the folk horror genre and thought the themes of love, scornment and feminine rage seen in this song; would be a perfect fit for a folk horror video. In my final year at university, I shot a short folk horror film called "Hallowed Earth" in which I had to experiment with conveing fear and dread through the cinematography, focusing on the actor's emotional performance more than spoken word. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to tell an interesting and heartbreaking story in an underrepresented but beloved genre. We are also shooting the band performing along with the story, anachronistically fourth wall breaking to build a dynamic and visually interesting music video.

The Band: Drenched
Drenched is a band consisting of four members performing in Bristol, they offer an eclectic mix of styles centered around the alternative & psychedelic rock genres. They have released an ep called "Drenched - Bloom" on their YouTube channel along with a music video for the song "Broken Back Chair" which was a significantly smaller project, but also by Faerieday and I which we released towards the end of 2025.

Our Crew
Meet the wonderful crew behind the production of Pink Leather.
Cinematography
Link Kraft (Cinematographer) is a director, writer, cinematographer, and NFTS MA graduate. He has experience in the period horror genre with his 2025 film "Sacred Beast" which he shot. We will be shooting this project on his "Blackmagic PYXIS 12K" along with a large number of film equipment you can find listed on Link Kraft's Website. Link is a highly passionate and hardworking member of the crew, looking to deliver unforgettable visuals along with the work of Ben Harris (Gaffer) and Rowan Wallace (2nd AC). Below you can find our cinematographer's showreel.
Costume
All costumes for the film are being designed and made by our wonderful costume artist Faerieday Head. Faerieday has extensive knowledge and skills in regards to costume making, with years of theatre experience and a HND in costume for stage and screen from Edinburgh College. Almost all of the costumes will be made with second hand fabric and materials, promoting an environmentally conscious and sustainable approach to costume making. Once used on this project we hope to sell them purely for the costs of materials so that they get used in the future and aren't a waste of resources in this day and age where so many items of clothing end up in landfill. Any money earned by which would be used in reimbursing any out of pocket expenses and would not act as profit.
Filming Location: Newton St.
Below you can find pictures of our shooting locations across the village of Newton St. Loe in Bath, United Kingdom. It also contains a picture of the farmhouse where we will be mainly shooting which we have been granted access to use by our script supervisor who lives there.
Mood Board
Inspiration
We are taking influence from a large number of vintage 60s and 70s English horror films and shows like Hammer House of Horror. We are also looking to more modern tales like The Witch for a wide range of inspiration.
