Sacrifice
Sacrifice is a short thriller drama that examines how far people will go for self-preservation, when pushed to breaking point.
In the wake of the pandemic and multiple national lockdowns, Charlotte's life is falling apart. An encounter with an old friend and colleague will test how far she will go to prevent from losing everything.
Project
Sacrifice

Sacrifice follows the story of Charlotte, who due to the national lockdowns, has lost her business.
Her marriage has fallen apart and her relationship with her child is under pressure. One day, Charlotte invites her old friend and coworker, Gemma, for a hike in the Peak District. Both Charlotte and Gemma are currently working for the same company, however one of them is about to be let go.
Charlottes intention is to ask Gemma to resign, since Gemma has been getting furlough money for the past year and half and really doesn't need a second job. Gemma however, is intentionally not willing to do so, as jealousies and insecurities are revealed.
Ultimately, Charlotte is forced into a situation where she has to decide whether she will allow Gemma to ruin what little she has left.

The lockdowns were hugely divisive for the nation, and some might say that we are currently experiencing the direct consequences of shutting the country and printing billions of pounds for furlough, given the current state of inflation and the country as a whole.
The Director had a business that was forced into bankruptcy by the closing of the economy, and due to the fact he had only been back in the UK for nine months after a few years living abroad, was not entitled to any Government support and faced near financial ruin. Such is the story of millions of people who were left to fend for themselves.
This is the impetus for the story within Sacrifice.

The Director self-funded production and post-production of the film which is fully complete!
Production took place over several months and editing, colour grading and music score were completed in July 2022.
We now need funding to get the film on the festival circuit which, to do properly, costs a substantial amount of money. Generally, "Gold" status festival submissions cost around £50.00 to enter.
With the money raised, we would be able to submit to 60 of the best, most high profile, international film festivals in order to get Sacrifice the audience it deserves.
