A trilogy of short films depicting the retrospective thoughts on why people come into our lives. Usually, we are able to rationalise them with one of the following three; a REASON, SEASON or a LIFETIME.

The three films are also linked by each protagonist featuring as an extra in one of the other films.

Currently we are crowdfunding for our first short film, REASON. This short see's FINLEY breathe a breath of fresh air into SADIE's stagnant life. Who knows what happens after this night - but what we see is the point that life for SADIE took a turn.

We aim to create content that is relatable and honest. The beauty in film is that it is a gateway for escapism. But, additionally it can act as a comforter. Witnessing a fictional character go through emotional turmoil or a confused state of mind reminds us all too well of own attempts at controlling our thoughts and feelings.

Our style is simple, but effective. The viewer will see themselves as a fly on the wall to this microcosm of life working behind the bar and living in a constant state of limbo.

Luccia Rennie- Director/Writer at 94 Stories

Luccia is the writer of the Sonder Trilogies and has been inspired to write about real life and relationship experiences. Luccia has a passion for film and is eager to use her creativity to create honest and emotionally stimulating content focusing on the modern woman perspective. Luccia wishes to represent real women in film; creating a form of escapism for our viewers whilst simultaneously revealing the gripping realities of relationships and the states of mind of millennial women. At the heart of Luccia's writing is  honesty and reality, yet it promises to be gripping and enthralling for our viewers.

Luccia has been working in the film production industry for a few years, gaining insight and knowledge in the production process and developing her skills as both a writer and director. Alongside starting her own female led film production company, 94 Stories, she has been working for Bedlam Film Productions LLP, creators of Oscar award-winning The Kings Speech. Here, she works as a production assistant for a new film project. Working for Bedlam Film Productions LLP, Luccia has been working under the Oscar award-winning producer, Gareth Ellis-Unwin, learning the mechanisms of the film production industry. Furthermore, this is where she met colleague and friend, Mimi Oakley, and the two decided to follow their ambitions and start to create film content to represent modern female empowerment.

Mimi Oakley- Producer at 94 Stories

Similarly to Luccia, Mimi has been working for Bedlam Film Productions LLP, as a production assistant and marketing executive for a feature-film. Mimi too works under Oscar award-winning producer, Gareth Ellis-Unwin who introduced the pair, and they immediately connected through their passion and determination to create gripping and honest content.

Mimi has a Masters in Contemporary Performance Practice, where she co-founded a feminist theatre company creating theatre to empower and educate its audience around modern women. These experiences  highlighted the lack of conversation and education around the female autonomy. Mimi has a passion for utilising her creativity to highlight female inequality and represent the lives of real modern day women. Furthermore, Mimi has a performance background as well as writing and creating. Mimi has done theatre acting ranging from Ophelia in Hamlet, Miranda in The Tempest to Mrs Lovett in Sweeny Todd.

Mimi is excited in showcasing both hers and Luccia's writing and very much looking forward to the future of 94 Stories.

Benjamin Leggett- Director of Photograhy

Ben has been working as an independent DoP working with many directors and technicians to develop innovative ways to deliver gripping and engaging storytelling through the screen. Ben has a particular passion in highlighting social inequalities, particularly around gender, sexuality and mental health. Ben has a strong determination to bring these stories alive and is additionally committed in supporting queer, female and ethnic minority in the film production industry. Ben seeks and values stories from underrepresented groups and encourages to give the voiceless a voice.

94 Stories is thrilled to have Ben onboard and are very much looking forward to seeing Ben bring their skills to the Sonder Trilogy.
