A weekend away in Brighton poses the perfect escape for two friends, but as they attempt to flee their circumstances, the trauma they are hiding from one another surfaces.

Sous Le Courant (Under The Current) is a simple story about friendship, French New Wave Cinema, feeling lost, escapism and helping the ones close to you.
Leo played by Jerry Iwu (Sex Education/ The Sister Boniface) is meeting his close friend Renée played by Georgia Sansom (Chloe/ Blood, Sex & Royalty) in Brighton for the weekend. The plan is to booze up and celebrate Renée's belated birthday that Leo missed, but not everything goes to plan as both characters have deep wounds that rise to the surface over the weekend.
Both characters wanting to escape from their existential lives are transported to a French New Wave world they can only see. Until the cracks from their own lives bring them back to reality.
Principle Photography has already been filmed. The Fundraising would go towards; Production Costs, Reshoots, a Film Composer, Film Festivals Applications fees & Premiere Costs.
