Story
Dark-Comedy / Thriller
Damien walks a lonely path, often finding refuge in abandoned buildings and taking opportunities where others turn a blind eye. He is observant and inquisitive; quiet and untrusting. Until one day, Damien befriends a common house sparrow, which he names Sally. This is where our tale begins.
Damien invites Sally into his home and soon they form a special bond...As the days go by, Damien begins to notice something unusual about Sally...Are his thoughts simply paranoia, or does Sally have ill intentions for her so called friend and host?
Film Inspiration
The Lighthouse - This dark tale fed us inspiration, from the black and white grading to the bleak and raw nature shots. The film oozes with atmosphere and intrigue. We hope to create a world that grips our audience in such a way!
Cast Away - As an audience we are transported into the lonely and isolated world of Chuck Nolan, as he is deserted on an island for several years. We drew our inspiration from the relationship Chuck has with Wilson. Despite Wilson being a volleyball, the audience are left emotional and pained by the pairs separation.
Style
The narrative of the story will be told through voice over, as Damien recalls the tale of Sally Sparrow. We are therefore making bold choices with visual styling of the film. The outdoor nature shots will be dark, ominous and foreboding, toying with the realms of supernatural and superstition.
There will be moments of absurdity and intensity. We aim to use close up shots to give a sense of warped reality. Finding a way to spill Damien's inner thoughts onto the screen so that the audience can unravel the mystery alongside him.
A fine line is drawn between where reality and the dream world merge. Costume design will play a vital role in emphasising Damien's turbulent mind and bringing his fantasies to life.
Set and Location will be fundamental in helping to stylise the piece. From epic nature shots to the abandoned house. We hope to grip our audience with unique and enticing visuals.

Budget Breakdown
What do we need?
We are aiming to raise £10000 to bring this film to life! We have calculated to costs involved and feel this is the optimal amount which will allow us to complete the film to the standard we have set for ourselves.
Where will it be spent?
Equipment - We will be using a top of the range camera : Arri Alexa Mini. We need to hire audio equipment, along with recording room hire. Lighting is essential for breathing life into the 'abandoned house' and we will also need to hire specific lenses to help capture very intricate moments.
Location - We are shooting at an 'abandoned house', which we will need to hire for the five days of filming. There will also be a multitude of shots filmed in the breathtaking countryside of hertfordshire.
Costume - There are several scenes with very unique and imaginative costume and as such we will need to hire a specialist to achieve this goal!
Music - This is a vital component of the film, as we aim to use soundscaping alongside an original score, designed specifically for each scene.
Cast & Crew - We have a brilliant team of creatives on board already and still need to finalise a few positions.
Travel & Catering - We are aiming to keep travel to a minimum and hire a local team. Filming will take place around London and Hertfordshire.
Future Goals
Film Festivals - Our goal is to have filming complete by mid to late March. This will allow us a month to complete post production before starting film festival circuits into summer 2025!
Silly Moose Productions - This will be the first of many films created by Silly Moose Productions and we would love nothing more than for you to join us on our journey! Your support and kindness will help us achieve our creative goals and aspirations, whilst allowing us the opportunity to share thought provoking and interesting stories, that we certainly hope will entertain you!
