Who we are : Gemini Collective

Gemini Collective is a group of young artists and filmmakers deeply involved in supporting the transformations our society is going through.

Founded in 2022, the crew has been working together for years on inclusive sets promoting minorities. Their signature works are films with unique powerful stories and visuals that deeply resonates with young generations. They most recently had a short film selected at the BAFTA- qualifying Iris Prize LGBTQ+ festival. We are an optimistic team who strongly believe that the world need a lot of people like us to catalyse the changes we want to see.

    Film Synopsis:

Living conditions in a large city can quickly become challenging for anyone. As a result of a number of unfortunate circumstances, including the rising cost of living, Danny ends up homeless as a cold UK winter is approaching. In a desperate need for a warm bed for the night, he couch surfs, sleeps at work, on tube, and wherever else he can find. Through his Tinder hookups and wanderings in town, Danny will make connections that will change his life and bring him hope and a future.

    Director's vision :

Set in modern day London, majority of the scenes will take place during the nighttime, amplifying Danny's sense of loneliness . Think ‘Taxi Driver’. Starting in a lo-fi style akin to early Safdie Brothers’ 'Heaven Knows What' or the raw visual aesthetic of Eliza Hittman’s 'Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always’, the visuals are simple, grey and non-cinematic. As the story progresses visuals are getting richer in colour, setting and characters, as does Danny’s life.

Where will the funds go ?

We are passionate about our project and as making a film brings many creatives together, our goal is to pay everyone for their amazing skills and hard work, from pre to post-production. The funding will be used for production costs (crew, cast, location, costume, kit, food..) as well as post production (editing, sound mixing…)

We are hungry and passionate and we know how to achieve a lot with little… but little we need !
