THE STORY

Takemaker follows Ivan Johannes, an indie filmmaker struggling to bring his personal vision to life. When the studio forces him to cast ‘Actor X’ - a disruptive social media influencer, Ivan’s project is thrown into chaos. The actor, with millions of online followers, brings an unwanted viral presence to the set, that for Ivan, diminishes the integrity of his work.

As Ivan's frustrations grow, he finds himself battling not only for creative control, but for his very identity as a filmmaker. The tension between the old world of artistry and the new world of media-driven fame intensifies, pushing Ivan to the brink—leading him to make shocking and irreversible choices that could destroy everything he’s worked for.

Takemaker is a psychological drama about the clash of artistic integrity, studio interference, and the rise of the ‘influencer’ in the broader media landscape. It asks ‘how do you find meaning in a world that has succumb to a superficial understanding of success, edging closer and closer to existential crisis’.

The story doesn’t just reflect on the changing media landscape—it also examines the personal cost of adapting to these shifts and the emotional toll it takes on those who dare to push against the tide.
