    THE COMPANY
We are Bold House Productions, a theatre company created by actresses Jenny Thornton and Jhenifer Acacia in 2020. Our aim is to create work that is inclusive, challenging, engaging and thought-provoking. We are interested in producing writing that explores modern-day gritty, hard-hitting and often taboo issues.

    THE WORK
The idea to produce the play was born in 2019 and it’s only now we see it possible to put the show on stage with a live audience. We have gathered a small team of passionate professionals committed to assembling a high-quality piece of work.
We have the rights of the play, the venue is booked, rehearsals have started and the posters are printing!

    THE MISSION
Our mission is to create a safe working environment for all creatives involved in this project. We aim to ensure all participants are paid for their time and everyone is given a platform to learn, cultivate and gain exposure for their craft. However, as this started as a self-funding project, we quickly realized that all professionals involved deserved to be paid higher rates for their jobs. Our core value is that every artist should be compensated for their work. Accordingly, we have created this campaign to get external funding to reimburse our team in a fair and transparent manner.

Working with us we have Canadian director Wendy Bollard, Stage Manager Maria Cuervo, Technical Operator Venus Raven, Set Designer Tilde Jensen, Photographer Deana Kotiga, Editor Laura Ferrer and Graphic Designers Louise Nordh and Anta Alexandra.

    THE WASP
We fell in love with The Wasp: a psychological thriller that explores dragging a childhood grudge out of the playground and into the dark cracks of adulthood. The Wasp is an enjoyably two-hander about friendship, childhood abuse, trauma and revenge, asking whether we can ever truly forgive those who hurt us.

By supporting our crowdfunding campaign, you’re ensuring that we can produce our first show ever and that every single professional doing a job in this production gets paid properly.

Moreover, we are also hoping to take the play to different theatre festivals in 2022, have a longer run at a bigger venue and maybe even tour the country. Who knows!
