Reputation - Feature Film
'Reputation' is an upcoming psychological crime drama, starring James Nelson-Joyce (A Thousand Blows) & Kyle Rowe (The Devil's Hour). Raw, violent and darkly comic, the film is currently in post-production, set for release in 2024. We are seeking extra funds for an extra day of filming, as well as to help with post-production costs, marketing and festival fees.
Project
Reputation - Feature Film
What?
'Reputation' is a gritty northern feature film drama; an intimate look at loyalty, greed and power in Broken Britain. Audiences have become bored of superhero movies and they're crying out for this type of film. This is a completely independent production.
Influences on this psychological crime drama include 'Dead Man’s Shoes', 'Gomorrah', 'Shooters' and 'Shifty'. If those are right up your street, please keep reading!
Why?
'Reputation' has been over 10 years in the making. The script was nurtured organically, ready to be made on a "nano budget". Principle photography has taken place, but we require extra funds to allow for an additional day of shooting to tighten up the ending, as well as to contribute to post-production costs.
With very little funding opportunities in the U.K., we now need your help to ensure the film sees the light of day.
Who?
Martin Law is a Director/Producer from the North West of England. His 2023 short film, 'Vacant', is currently on the festival circuit and has so far screened at Birmingham Film Festival and the BIFA-qualifying Wigan & Leigh Film Festival.
A self-described "student of low-budget filmmaking", Martin has interviewed filmmakers, including Rob Savage (‘Host’) and Gareth Tunley (‘The Ghoul’), for his own podcast all about the British film and television industry. Once 'Reputation' is complete, he plans to write a book about the process of making it.
How?
There are many ways that you could help ensure this film is finished to the standard it deserves. If you can contribute financially, that would be great. But even if not, please spread the word about this feature film. Share with friends, family, colleagues; anyone that you think would be interested in this kind of film. Crowdfunding isn't just about raising funds; it's about raising the profile of the film; a marketing tool, if you will.
Currently, there is no distribution deal in place, but Martin plans to approach sales agents when the film is complete. Crowdfunding allows Martin to keep creative control.

Rewards?
You will see one of the rewards/perks on offer is a Zoom call with filmmaker Martin Law. Martin will happily discuss how he went about making the film completely independently; from setting up a limited company (SPV), to approaching agents, to the plans for getting the film out into the world. He can also read your own script and give feedback, if that's what you'd prefer to talk about.
There are various other rewards on offer, but please feel free to reach out directly if there is something else Martin can do for you in return of a donation: info@factorynoir.co.uk.
Thank you for reading. Please check out the film's website for more information: reputationfilm.com.
