Fleur Bardot, Director
Welcome everyone! My name is Fleur Bardot, I am French and currently studying in filmmaking in London. This queer, feminist short film exposing the story of a lesbian relationship and its injunctions is a political topic I take to heart. Sort of like a little concocted manifest if you want! I want the representation of women that has longly been falsified, or misinterpreted to change in our beautiful language which is filmmaking. And this can only be made collaboratively: so with the help of a beautiful team sharing the same values, we will orchestrate a beautiful “Arpeggio” with justice.
Megan Teo, Producer
Hi, I'm Megan, a Singaporean producer, now based in London. With an interest for queer narratives, I hope to immerse audiences in unique stories with strong characters. 'Arpeggio' spoke to me as a necessary addition to lesbian cinema, being a story that challenged the tragic endings of its predecessors and focused on allowing oneself love and happiness, no matter how late it may be. I find it a real honour to work with this amazing team of talented and inspiring filmmakers and this wonderful script.
Zoë Dretar, Cinematographer
I am Zoë, the Director of Photography for this project. Fleur, our director, immediately intrigued me with her intention to portray an LGBTQ+ love story between two women with a poetic touch. Making use of the female gaze to empathise rather than objectify and employing the camera as an invisible observer for this film to capture the unfolding narrative of the main character Julie reminiscing her past through playing piano excites me. I am enthusiastic about bringing our project to life visually and collaborating with the amazing people on our team!
We're a dedicated team of UAL students who are brimming with passion and ideas for this project, but shooting in London isn't cheap.
We've already managed to keep our budget to a minimal £1,200 by getting £400 from our school and getting most of our locations for free. But we still have a long way to go and every donation helps!
Our budget will be going to:
- Transport for our actors & equipment
- Feeding our lovely cast & crew
- Production design
We've put together a lovely range of rewards for our pledgers but we hope you support our film!
