    THE JOURNEY

Hello! I'm Rita Osei, writer, director and producer of AURORA and I'm delighted to say that the film is "in the can", thanks to the small crew and cast who made the film with me. Your pledges will help to support the next stages of filmmaking including editing and will help to cover some of the extra costs from the shoot, which took place in central London.

    THE FILM, THE STORY

The Asantes, an African blooded family, work together in central London. When AURORA, the family matriarch, clashes with a strange entity on her way home from work she’s transformed forever. Now a vampire vying for a feed AURORA must navigate the raging changes occurring in her body. Before she eats her way through the client list at the restaurant and bar where they work, her twenty-one-year-old straight talking daughter SOFIA, an apprentice chef, must create a potion to quench AURORA’s thirst.

    THE GENRE AND THEME

A psychological horror drama, AURORA explores the peri-menopausal stage of female life and the changing relationship between mother and daughter as caring roles are reversed.

    THE STARS

AURORA stars Senegalese, French actress Djinda Kane and British actress Ella-Rae Smith (Queen Sareth in Season 2 of Apple TV's FOUNDATION). Both actresses are phenomenal in the film and were amazing to work with, by pledging you can be amongst the first to see their chemistry on screen.

Supporting stars are Melanie Gray (Hotel Portofino, Outlander), Joshua Osei (Top Boy, Thirteen Cars) Edwin de la Renta (Ted Lasso, Pretty Red Dress).

    THE CREW & THE SET

Our locations include an iconic bridge in Canary Wharf, a unique bar in Covent Garden and a stunning home in East London.

Our crew included filmmakers originally from Ukraine, China, France, Ghana, Malta, Italy, Brazil, Cyprus, the USA and of course the Brits.

AURORA is scored by Composer Oleta Haffner, winner of The Oscars and Mercury Studios' Jonas Gwangwa composer initiative.

    THE KIT

The camera and lighting kit was generously provided by ARRI Rental and Panalux.

    THE FUNDRAISER

This is my first film fundraiser, but I'm no stranger to the circuit and have supported more than 25 film fundraising projects privately and publicly and hope you will support mine. The rewards for doing so include exclusive access to the finished film and viewing it on the big screen at a private screening soon.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Pledge as generously as you can, I am so excited to soon be screening the film to you all!
