It’s Summertime! The sun is out but the cash is low for teenage misfits Abigail, Malachi and Nima. They’re stuck in the South West London suburbs of Battersea, bored out of their brains in Banana Park, with nothing but their pipe dreams (not the power station), until Nima finds an ancient tome called A Dark History of Clapham & Battersea....

With nothing better to do and with no sense between them, the three decide to become ghostbust(redacted so we don’t get sued)....GHOULBUSTERS!

They start their new ‘careers’ in an infamous but dilapidated Battersea Victorian council block called Persephone House where they vex oddball resident Zadie, and accidentally awaken soul-eating demon Ester. The gang must get their holy water, sage and garlic breads ready as they battle before it is too late. Will they survive the summer or will they be doomed?

Prepare to squeal with excitement and shriek even more from South London shlock and shock. This is the Battersea blockbuster you won’t want to miss!

Isn’t Battersea just a train station and some middle class yummy mummy hideaway? Well sorta, but the real old school Battersea (aka SW11) knows differently!

Most representations of Battersea only show the hyper wealth of Nine Elms and the nappy valley of Northcote Road but neglect the multicultural Falcon Road, beauty of Battersea Park or the rich cultural history of having the first Black mayor and working class MP, the arts/culture of Battersea Arts Centre  and big estates like Winstanley that were birth place of So Solid Crew, the first UK garage group to take over the charts!

We want to show the Battersea that is often overshadowed but loved by so many of their residents past and present. Battersea also has a long history of the supernatural, being the birthplace of The Spiritualist Association of Great Britain in 1872 to present day, and home of the Battersea Poltergeist, the inspiration for the hit BBC podcast. But really… if you take a walk around the backstreets…..you may feel some spooks, some shivers and something strange in this neighbourhood.

This is a love letter to SW11 with all of its ghosts and ghoulies (past and present).

    Abigail ‘THE BRAINS’

As a neurodivergent voice of reason, Abigail is why her mates never end up dead or too badly injured…very much the straight man to her lunatic friends whom she loves dearly even though they drive her nuts. Though shy and reserved, she is still a bit quirky and often immerses herself in her drawings/ghost stories.

    Nima ‘THE CE-BrO’

The head nerd in charge of the Battersea Ghoul Busters (or so he likes to think, since he has a deep love of horror B movies). Wants to be perceived as badass but unfortunately his lanky exterior and easily startled personality don’t match. Nima is constantly away with his hare-brained schemes, and is usually the reason these lot are in trouble.

    Malachi ‘THE BRAWN’

Hyperactive with not one bit of sense whatsoever, Malachi is the happy go lucky man child of this group. Always pulling pranks on his friends, he is Nima’s right hand man but also Abigail’s biggest cheerleader, despite his foolishness. Alot of his immature posturing is front however as he may or may not have a crush on his best mate.

    Zadie ‘THE WILDCARD’

Nutty local conspiracy theorist with an eccentric personality and eclectic knowledge of the supernatural . Zadie marches to the beat of her own drum and knows everything about Battersea from Banana Park to backstreets of Lavender Hill. Though young, at heart she is old school Battersea, thanks to being raised by her equally odd nan.

    Esther ‘THE FEMME FATALE’

Esther is an over 200 year old Battersea resident but doesn’t look a day over 25. Not because of some trips to Turkey for a few facelifts and BBLs, but because she is a soul eating demon that preys on the minds of her unsuspecting victims. She owns a dilapidated flat in the not so gentrified part of Battersea…basically a yuppie’s wet dream. She has also lived many lives as a victorian era serial killer, wealthy but very phony medium, schlock B Movie actress, notorious madam and most evil of all…..a landlord!

Along with a good dose of humour and scares, The team really want to showcase neurodivergent/disabled talent on and off screen as it is currently one of the least represented communities across the film/TV landscape. Majority of cast/crew will be neurodivergent.

    Conor Devlin-Powell (Creator)

Conor is a neurodivergent writer/artist from Battersea. He has written short plays for Theatre 503 and Royal Court and currently in development stages of a sitcom with Fully Focused Productions. He is also a member of Fully Focused youth team and has created projects with Autograph Gallery, known for their quirky surreal comedic writing and art. Their short lockdown era animation ‘INK’ was part of South London Gallery’s Convergence Film Festival and Oska Bright (The UK’s leading disability film festival). He has recently released an experimental semi-animated film What I'm Hiding From You... which was funded by Autograph Gallery and Shape Arts.

Roo is also a member of Fully Focused where he has shot Wounded, a Netflix funded short which has been nominated for awards such as ‘Cannes Shorts’ and ‘Muslim Film Festival’, as well as the comedy 'MASK'. Roo has a plethora of visually satisfying music videos under his belt, and he likes to work primarily with underground artists as it allows him to express himself visually with no constraints.
