WHY NOW?

Welcome to our Greenlit Campaign for our short Film 'Neutopia'. This is a project that has been in development for nearly a year and there's no better time to release it than now. 

It has complicated technical demands, such as working with an animal, a child actor, extras & filming in mutliple locations, so we have taken our time to plan the production carefully.

I believe it's a story which is very important to all of us today, due to the accelerated advancements in artificial intelligence. This film is not your typical story about AI's evil intentions to take over the world, rather it's more about how society has become increasingly disconnected to one another and how we are delving deeper and deeper into the unknown.

Crowdfunding is not just about raising production finance, it’s also about getting the word out, so even if you can’t back us with money, I would love to share you the film once it's done. We will be taking this film further and submitting to worldwide festivals.

SYNOPSIS

Neutopia is set in 2034, where humans no longer have autonomy over their own minds, thanks to a government enforced Neural Implant Programme run by the Artificial Intelligence Network (AIN).

In an age dominated by Artificial intelligence, mankind is nothing more than an algorithm to be programmed and controlled by the AIN with the sole purpose of eradicating organic intelligence. The themes touch on the disconnection that we have with one another as technology consumes every aspect of our lives and the realisation that deep state corporations are acting with malevolent intentions towards humankind. 

The story follows Myles who is heavily depressed by the world he lives in and his failing career drives him into a hole where he struggles to see the light. Myles gets offered a new mod enhancement called Perfect Overdrive. Which is a secret trial program that uses AI selective consciousness to enable the user to override their conscious awareness of any action or task, in order to maximise neural performance. 

The enhancement is so powerful that Myles becomes totally dependent on this implant until he eventually loses all sense of reality.
