Project
The Pump
Director:
Hey, I’m Dom Poots, the writer and director of The Pump.
This has been a passion project of mine for many years. The idea originated in my childhood when I watched my mother (a clown) and her clown colleagues. I always found the balance in between the natural silliness of the profession and the seriousness and importance with which they practice it. This film reflects that concept. It’s a comedy/drama that deals with betrayal, greed, fame, love and death seen through the eyes of one of the most humorous professions on the planet.
I've worked with Maxim and Harvey before and I am super excited to bring this concept and vision to life.
Producer:
Hey, I’m Maxim and I’m the producer of The Pump.
Once Dom had pitched me his idea for ’The Pump’ I knew I couldn’t say no. I am super excited to work with both Dom and Harvey to bring this fun and unique idea to the big screen.
Having moderate experience producing short films in the past I am confident in my team and I’s ability to create a captivating narrative-driven short film. I look forward to collaborating with our wonderful crew on this coming project.

Director of Photography:
Hi, I’m Harvey and I’m the director of photography for The Pump. The uniqueness of the story is what interested me in this project and there is a lot of opportunity for distinctive experimental cinematography. It’s a very exciting short film for a DoP to be a part of and the process so far working with Dom has been great as always.
LOCATION NO.1 : ‘The Space Theatre’
The home of the clowns.
The Pump focuses on the clowns rivalry in a small theatre. Within this theatre we see the entire performance process from the dressing room to the stage. ‘The Space’ offers everything we need in a filming location, a perfect blend of rustic visual appeal and creative freedom.
LOCATION NO.2 : ‘Oliver’s Jazz Bar’
The final performance.
Our second location reflects one clowns elevation to a higher position in the industry and the other’s bitter desire for revenge. The finale of ‘The Pump’ is not to be missed.
Oliver’s Jazz Bar if the perfect filming location for the finale of our film due to its sophisticated aesthetic and flexibility.
