“The Rough Gig” follows Ryan Howe, a successful stand-up comedian who has built his career on making fun of the strange and quirky characters from his home village.

But when he agrees to come home by his old friend to do a show for “old time’s sake”, he thinks “what could go wrong?”

But will the villagers he has built his career on ridiculing accept his return with open arms, or will this be the roughest gig of his career?

A tale of friendship, weirdness, and very British fun… because sometimes in life, there’s no place like home.

“The Rough Gig” completed filming in October 2020 and was shot across various locations in Kent and the South East with a total cast and crew of 50. The production was supported by a number of local businesses and organizations such as the Kennington WI, Ashford Radio, Moonlight Limos, RG Studios, and The Radio School. The team also collaborated with local radio DJ, John “Webbo” Webster, and several emerging music artists, such as ‘Luke White’ and ‘Moniters’ who have provided songs and scoring for the film.

Prior to the completion of shooting, the film won ‘Best Pitch’ at both the Cine Circle UK Film & TV Job Fair in March 2020 and the Cine Circle Film Pitching competition in June 2020 against ~20 other films.

“The “Rough Gig” team recently released the first trailer for the film on their IMDB page and website and are now looking for public and corporate sponsorship to accelerate the completion of post-production of their film prior to its public premiere in April 2021. This sponsorship will also serve to help fund future submissions to film festivals and potential distributors.

Individuals willing to support the film will have the opportunity to receive exclusive rewards such as being credited as an Executive or Associate Producer, be invited to the film’s premiere, or receive exclusive merchandise. Corporate sponsors willing to support the film can have their business directly promoted and featured within the film and at the premiere.
