She Talks In Her Sleep
New age couple Dan and Faye are excited for their future together, but when Faye begins sleep talking, her eerie, unconscious messages lead Dan to believe that they're both being haunted. Some people’s pasts are too toxic to cleanse.
She Talks In Her Sleep is a new, 9 minute horror short, brought to you by the same creators of the BAFTA nominated: The Blue Door.
She Talks In Her Sleep
A 9 minute short horror film; a gripping tale of a couple whose seemingly safe and online shiny, veneered existence is thrown into sudden and terrifying peril when Faye begins delivering creepy messages in her sleep. At a deeper level the story deals with themes of domestic abuse, trust and self-control. How safe can you ever really feel? From outsiders, loved ones and even yourself?
By BAFTA Nominated Creators
Like our previous BAFTA-nominated short, The Blue Door, we are setting out to tell a story which works at multiple levels.
Our priority is realism. She Talks In Her Sleep will have a slice-of-life quality, allowing us to ground the more heightened elements of the story in the everyday. Performances, scripting, art direction, lighting and camera work will all prioritise realism over any other aesthetic. Each relatable, at times amusing, scene builds towards one impossible crescendo which sets out to take the audience completely off guard.
With this film, we want to deliver an engaging cinematic experience which draws you in, keeps you guessing and leaves you reeling, feeling and thinking, all in under 10 minutes.
Warning! Video has a very spooky, scary moment!
Where you come in
So why do we need your help? Whilst the success of The Blue Door is evident, we haven't broken any glass ceilings just yet. We've looked to all sorts of avenues to fund our latest horror idea but industry enthusiasm and money is lacking in horror as a genre.
This is where horror audiences come in! They're some of the most supportive and content hungry viewers out there and as stalwart horror fans ourselves, we know you want something new, exciting and most of all SCARY.
We believe She Talks in Her Sleep will scratch all those itches.
Even if you're not a horror fan, know that this short can be respected as a drama if all the horror elements were removed; that you should support Indie Film in all forms, as much as you should support the types of films you know and love.
With your funding and a fully financed production, we'll be able to show you what we can light up on the silver screen!
Where does the money go?
