Heya! My name is Fran St Clair. I'm a London-based actress and the writer and director of 'SLAY' - an exciting short film shooting in July 2023. 'SLAY' is my second short after 'CAKE' which has been selected for multiple festivals and will be premiering at KIFF in June! 

'SLAY' is a satirical dark comedy that explores the friendship between three flatmates, Phoebe, Jade and Heather. They each share one big thing in common - hatred for their fourth 'influencer' flatmate, Danielle. 
They come up with a plan to get her to leave the flat once and for all. But a shocking discovery means friendships are tested and killers are unmasked.

Our artwork is designed by the amazing Kelsey Cooke who is an amazing artist as well as an incredible actor!

I wanted to create a film that acts as a commentary on social media, cancel culture and jealousy within female friendships. The film takes inspiration from ‘Heathers’, 'Mean Girls’ and is tonally similar to ‘Jawbreaker’ and most recently ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’. Drawing on classic tropes from the genres whilst offering modern elements with a nostalgic twist, ‘SLAY’ is a fresh and deadly funny concept following interesting and problematic characters.

This is a passion project put together by a small number of talented and passionate creatives ready to jump right in and get started! We do need some funding for the project which will help us with locations, expenses, food, festivals, etc!
