That's Ace @ VAULT Festival 2023

THAT'S ACE is a new one-woman show about asexuality, relationships and self-identity. Asexuality is highly underrepresented in the media, especially the arts. We are taking it to the VAULT Festival in March with the aim to take it further. In order to do this, we need to build the best production possible and need funding for this.

"This short solo show attempts to lift the lid on asexuality... A really impressive performance from Tiffany Marina Pearmund as Ace. She holds the audience's attention throughout."

That’s Ace is making its professional stage debut at the VAULT Festival 2023, having premiered as a student production as part of the Mountview IGNITE Festival in May 2022. This one-woman show tackles the topics of asexuality, relationships, identity and… Doctor Who. Jonny Brace writes this piece from the heart and Tiffany Marina Pearmund smashes it out of the park with her 50-minute performance. Raising awareness of asexuality and beginning discussions into understanding the topic is crucial for this community and where best to begin? In the arts. This fundraiser is to help us create a show that appropriately reflects the discussions at hand and platforms the work to the best of its ability. Help us make this the show it deserves to be.

“Triumph. Jonny Brace did it again, elevated by the performance of Tiff Marina Pearmund. James Creighton-Goode picked a good one and worked bloody hard! Well done!”

“Really heartwarming, made me wonder if I’m asexual!”

    “Great solo performance. Well-paced script."

    “That was ace! Brilliant show.”

    A Word From The Team

“When Jonny presented this piece to me, I wanted to sit and discuss it forever. I was sold - both by the beautiful concept and Jonny’s charm as a writer. I had never produced a one-person show before so I was excited by the challenge and on top of it, staging it in-the-round meant I was producing from angles I never dared to tread before. What is really important to me, however, is having the opportunity to help create a piece of work that has real, genuine meaning. Since accepting this project in early 2022, I have learnt so much about asexuality, self-identity, and my own position in this world. I am both a better person and producer for it.”

    Where Your Money Will Go

With such a quick turnaround from getting accepted to performing at the VAULT Festival, we have had to gather all the essentials whilst working out the funding. Producer James Creighton-Goode has been working hard to make this the most cost-effective production possible but money still needs to go into it.

From the essentials, such as set and rehearsal space to insurance and marketing, we need to find the funds to get this really moving. Over 4 nights we have the potential to reach 260 people live - this is beyond important for the topics at hand. To reach these people, we need to expand our marketing with social media, flyers and posters.

To ensure we are doing everything we can whilst being as true to the project as we can, we need your help. We have set our goal at the minimum total needed to fund everything mentioned and the other little bits along the way. Anything above this will allow us to put more into spreading the word and creating the best show possible.

We have a number of rewards available that you can claim, dependant on your level of donation -  every little bit helps. If you can't donate, you can still help us out by sharing our campaign and our project on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
